Eagles Nest, Klein Aus Vista
Conveniently located half way between Sossusvlei and Fish River Canyon, Eagles Nest at Klein-Aus Vista boasts incredible views over the stark Namibian landscape affording travelers a night of solitude and silence on their Namibian journey.
Located a short drive from the sleepy town of Aus, Eagles Nest at Klein Aus Vista is the perfect place to break a long journey when traveling between Sossusvlei and Fish River Canyon in the far south of Namibia. The rooms are simple and in keeping with the natural surroundings, all built out of local stone nestled against a sloping mountain and scattered in between giant boulders, many of which have been incorporated into the design of the rooms.
Each of the eight stone chalets have their own small kitchenette for those willing to self cater and take advantage of the secluded location, however there is a main lodge, just 15 minutes away, Desert Horse Inn, where meals are served each evening. Desert Horse Inn also has an inviting swimming pool which all guests are welcome use.
While most guests will only stay for one night, there is the chance to explore the immediate area on foot following well marked hiking trails or simply enjoy a wonderful sunset after a day on the road.
