Ozondjou Trails

Ozondjou Trails is one of Namibia's newest tented safari camps on the Ugab River. Located close to the base camp of the Elephant Human Relations Aid, regular sightings of free roaming elephants are often enjoyed from the camp itself.

Ozondjou Trails
  • Seek out the elusive and enigmatic giants of Namibia's north, desert elephant sightings are almost a certainty and can even be witnessed sauntering along the dry riverbed in front of the camp.

  • Perched over the edge of the Ugab River, eat food cooked over an open fire as the stars radiate above and elephants walk past in the night.

  • Discover ancient traditions on cultural visits to nearby Herero and Himba villages.

  • Try out possibly Damaraland's best "loo with a view" where you gaze out over the surrounding mountains.

The camp comprises of eight tents, each with twin beds, an en-suite shower and wash basin. The main area has a mess tent with lounge and a dining table which leads outside. Enjoy sitting out under the stars and unwind with a drink as dinner is prepared over an open fire. The breath taking views of undisturbed wildlife make this a truly memorable experience.

The picture perfect scenery and dramatic landscape of the rocks and free-roaming wildlife give you the perfect opportunity to encounter game such as zebra, kudu, oryx and ostrich. During the day take short walk in the area and visit a village school or help the EHRA team in their day patrol in search of the desert elephants and have the opportunity to study their behaviour with specialists.

Due to the wild nature and location of this camp, where wildlife roams freely, children under 16 are not permitted.
