Zighy Bay is the ideal antidote to the large scale continual construction work in Dubai and is located in the peaceful haven of Northern Oman. The resort has 82 pool villas and beautifully blends the traditional rustic Omani architectural techniques with a modern innovative twist, offering a subtle sense of luxury, masterfully crafted with the appreciation of the local surroundings. There are a number of differing room types to suit any party size and requirements.
The resort has a large central fresh water swimming pool and a salt water pool - both with poolside sevice. The Spa, operated by Six Senses, offers nine treatment rooms and has a full range of treatments. There are non-motorized water sports on offer, a library with a wide selection of movies, DVDs, books and magazines and a fully equipped gym.
With a commitment to sustainability and wellness the resort has its own organic farm, the Dibba Farm where they grow their own fruit and vergetables as well as keeping a host of domesticated animals leading to one of Omans' only cheese factories. The farm produces 50 different varieties of fruits, herbs and vegetables (herbs are also used in spa treatments) as well as its only honey provided by 12 hives of bees.
With a philosophy of sourcing excellent ingredients to give a fantastic culinary experience, the four restaurants blend the rustic Omani village feel, yet ooze elegance and sophistication. There are a multitude of options to choose from including Western, Middle Eastern, Indian and fresh sea food at Summer House and Spice Market. 'Shua Shack' offers traditional Bedouin communal dining experience with under sand cooking. The 'Sense on the Edge’ restaurant is an award-winning mountain top dining venue, located 293 meters above sea level, overlooking Zighy Bay, with an adjacent lounge ‘Drinks on the Edge’. The other bar ‘Chill’ offers a chance to kick back with a sun downer.
The Zighy Bay concept perfectly merges a sense of subtle sophistication with a rustic flair and real sense of innovation and elegance. It is ideal for those wanting a more peaceful experience than the hustle of Dubai and can be combined easily with stopovers to the Indian Subcontinent and the Maldives.
