This property is part of our Limitless Collection, exclusively curated for our Scott Dunn Private members.
Sitting at 2,000 m high, Singita Kwitonda boasts an incredibly special location surrounded by lush vegetation and with an awesome volcano backdrop.
The closest lodge to the Mountain gorillas’ natural habitat in the Virunga National Park, this is the most luxurious option for a visit to Rwanda and the ultimate place to relax and restore after your gorilla trekking adventure.
The eight private suites each with their own plunge pool and outdoor fireplace boasting incredible volcano views. Guests can even receive a pampering session in the comfort of their own suite
Situated on an isolated 178- acre piece of land right on the edge of the well known Volcanoes National Park, Singita Kwitonda Lodge offers some of the most breathtaking views out over the lush green forests where the endangered mountain gorillas of the Virunga Massif can be found.
This new addition to the Singita portfolio is a fantastic way of combining classic safari in the Serengeti with gorilla trekking in Rwanda, especially for those wishing to maintain the Singita level of luxury throughout their East African journey.
Singita's philosophy of minimum impact on the land is paramount to the construction of this brand new lodge and it has been designed to embody the spirit of Rwanda using locally sourced materials. Even the name "Kwitonda" is after a famous silverback that used to roam the forests of the National Park and was known for his gentle nature and humility.
Singita Kwitonda Lodge offers seven one bedroom suites, one two bedroom suite and a four bedroom villa for larger parties. All rooms have stunning views of the magnificent Gahinga, Muhabura and Sabyinyo volcanoes. During their stay, guests will of course have easy access to the park to view the famous mountain gorillas, however other excursions are also on offer such as a visit to the endemic golden monkey population, Lake Kivu or the Afro Montane forests of Nyungwe National Park.
Conservation is a core component to any Singita property, the presence of Kwitonda Lodge on the park border will help to improve the function of the buffer area between agricultural plots and the habitat of the estimated 320 gorillas that call this park their home.
