Phinda Game Reserve is cradled in the arms of the Ubombo Mountains and flanked to the east by golden beaches and the Indian Ocean, in KwaZulu-Natal. This is one of Africa’s most diverse wilderness areas, boasting seven ecozystems and an extraordinary range of wildlife.
Phinda Mountain Lodge is set apart from the other lodges on Phinda due to its panoramic views and dramatic location. The 25 suites are split on two levels between the sleeping and sitting area; each suite has a large wooden deck that offers views of the Ubombo mountains and coastal plains. They also offer outdoor showers and private plunge pools. There are family cottages which comprise of two interconnecting rooms, accommodating two adults and up to three children. The rooms here are smaller and there are no views, but they are still a great option for families wanting to experience all Phinda has to offer.
Delicious pan-African meals can be enjoyed in the remarkable stone and reed boma, romantically illuminated by dozens of candles and lanterns, or savored in a spectacular clearing in the bush under an umbrella of twinkling stars. Phinda is renowned for its bush banquets in unique, unexpected settings.
The Phinda Game Reserve offers excellent big five game viewing, with spectacular sightings of the elusive cheetah and the rare black rhino. You can enjoy day and night game drives and walking safaris.
