Uga Bay was one of the first hotels to establish itself on the stunning Pasikuda Bay on the east coast of Sri Lanka and is built to a very high standard. The hotel comprises of 48 spacious rooms, all facing out over the gardens or out to sea.

Pasikuda Bay has wide beaches of stunning white sand combined with shallow water without the strong currents of the south and west coast of Sri Lanka. Uga Bay makes the most of its prime location on the widest part of the beach. All buildings face towards the sea and the garden is landscaped to make the most of the open space.
An enormous infinity pool is the focal point of the resort with more than enough space to swim long lengths and relax poolside. Alternatively there are sun loungers on the beach and every room has its own balcony with seating.
The main rooms are situated in two-storey houses with two rooms on each floor. The upstairs rooms have the most uninterrupted views of the Bay of Bengal and if you can face it, the view of the sunrise is spectacular.
For those who are more active, there are water sports available in the bay. Please note that the water sports are independently run as a cooperative between neighboring hotels.
The food here is delicious and quite western in style and there is understandably a focus on seafood. Bread is freshly baked each day and was some of the best we tasted on our recent trip to Sri Lanka.
When to visit
Although there is plenty of room on the beach for everyone, it is not a private beach.
