Keslik Monastery and Derinkuyu Underground City

Like many buildings in Cappadocia, Keslik Monastery has been carved into the rock and this extensive construction features churches, kitchens and sleeping quarters, as well as a collection of mesmerizing frescoes depicting biblical scenes.  

Underground cities are abundant in Cappadocia, with some accommodating as many as 20,000 people inside. Derinkuyu is the deepest underground city in Turkey, extending to around 60 meters (200 feet) underground. This fascinating structures includes a network of rooms over multiple levels showcasing impressive design and engineering.
