Reached along spectacular Highway 128, Sorrel River Ranch is a remote lodge located near Moab, the adventure capital of the Southwest. The lodge and has been designed to capture and reflect the natural beauty of southern Utah's unique red rock cliffs and mountain landscape.
The adventure potential here is virtually unlimited. Get a taste of the Old West horseback riding with Sorrel's team of wranglers among giant buttes and mesas or follow hiking trails through pristine desert scenery full of natural and cultural history. Take in the extraordinary natural beauty of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Go rock climbing or canyoneering – even if you haven’t tried this before, there are expert guides to show you the ropes.
There is also exhilarating white water on the Colorado River and the infamous Cataract Canyon, where full- and half-day rafting trips can be organized. On two wheels, mountain biking here is some of the best on Earth, and on four wheels, there are Hummer tours and jeep safaris that will take you off road to some of the secluded canyons, hidden arches and awesome panoramic views from the tops of red cliffs that are lit up by the desert sunsets. Take an ATV trip to explore the remains of ancient civilizations, discovering dinosaur bones on the way. Or take to the air on a scenic flight to enjoy unbelievable views of the powerful landscapes. You can even go skydiving if you dare!
After an invigorating day, return to the ranch to relax by the pool while soaking up the astonishing surroundings, or unwind with a yoga session. If your thirst for activity is not abated, you can play tennis, Bocce ball, badminton and croquet.
Then enjoy a superb meal at the River Grill Restaurant with herbs and vegetables fresh from the lodge’s kitchen garden, before returning to your spacious and elegantly rustic accommodation with log-beamed ceilings, overstuffed sofas and mountain-lodge style furnishings.
