Thorntree River Lodge

Located on the edge of Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, Thorntree River Lodge boasts luxurious accommodation on the banks of the Zambezi River, just a short distance from the magnificent Victoria Falls.

Victoria Falls - Livingtone, Zambia
  • Relax with a gin and tonic out on the water as you enjoy a sunset river cruise.

  • Boasts a stunning setting on the banks of the Zambezi River, just a few miles away from Victoria Falls.

  • Soak in your private plunge pool after a day out at the falls or a game drive in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park.

  • Exchange stories with other guests around the sunken fire pit under the stars.

Thorntree River Lodge is the newest lodge in the Livingstone area, set to rival Livingstone accommodation with its modern and contemporary design. Inspiration for the lodge has been taken from local culture and customs to maintain an authentic African feel while in keeping with the local environment.

The lodge comprises eight luxury rooms each with their own private deck with plunge pool, offering the perfect respite after a day on the river. The rooms are spacious, light and airy, with relaxing seating areas which can also be made into an extra bed for younger children on special request. There are two family units sleeping up to four people which comprise two separate en suite bedrooms with an inter-leading walkway.

The main area of the lodge comprises a large lounge and bar area, indoor dining room and a library. In the warmer months, guests dine under the stars on the main deck while listening to the sounds of the river just beyond. In the evenings guests are invited to come together around the large sunken fire pit, to exchange travel stories and to enjoy a drink before dinner.

Thorntree River Lodge is the perfect place from which to enjoy a wide range of activities both on the river and at Victoria Falls itself. While only a short distance away from the Falls, the lodge feels secluded and hidden, making for the perfect escape for those looking for total relaxation before or after a safari.
