Distinct in its design, Saffire is a luxury coastal sanctuary on Tasmania’s East Coast that features only 20 suites. With the vast expanses of Tasmanian wilderness surrounding you, Saffire really has an exclusive atmosphere, heightened by uncompromising service and stunning attention to detail.

Taking inspiration from the colours of the Freycinet Peninsula, each of the 20 suites is luxuriously appointed, designed with an eclectic combination of traditional and contemporary elements, all with magnificent views of the Hazards Mountains and azure blue waters of Great Oyster Bay. Saffire’s use of timber, stone and leather connects the interiors with the surrounding environment, making the most of the natural coastal beauty and dramatic scenery.

The innovative menus at the Palate Restaurant make the most of the stunning local produce, taking advantage of whatever is fresh out of the water or the paddock. Saffire’s executive chef Iain Todd can turn his hand to anything, be it recreating a favourite dish, campfire dining or multi-course dégustation menus paired with the finest local wines.

Saffire has an extensive array of activities on offer to suit every guest, with deserted islands, wild bushland and secluded beaches to explore. Take a visit to Schouten Island, which is home to penguin rookeries and seal colonies and from May to November, this remote island is the place to spot migrating Southern Right whales.

Following a day of exploration walking the white sands of Wineglass Bay or indulging in some of Tasmania’s exquisite food and wine, visit Spa Saffire, with a wide range of bespoke treatments on offer, designed by some of the world’s leading experts.
