Cultural Tour of Thimphu

First you will be driven to the Zorig Chusum, a painting school for arts and crafts. This school offers a range of courses from four to six years to master the thirteen traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. Marvel at some of the brilliant artwork here.
Next, visit the Voluntary artist’s studio. The capital's main hub for artists, its focus is to promote both traditional and contemporary works of Bhutanese art, offering vocational training to young artists and as a creative meeting place for artists. The heart of Thimphu's art scene, its a great place to people watch and chat with artists.
Then you will continue onto the Weaving Centre or the Textile Museum. Weaving is an plays a fundamental role in the culture and tradition of Bhutan, something the Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan aims to preserve.
If time allows it, take a visit to the Jungshi paper making factory where guests can observe the entire process of producing handmade paper with methods that have been practiced for generations. Try your hand at this ancient craft and make some paper of your very own as a memento of your time in Bhutan.
Finally as you head back to your hotel, enjoy the drive past the Tashichho Dzong - the "Fortress of the Glorious Religion". Initially built in 1641, it houses the throne room of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan.
