Recently opened in March 2018, this new camp offers an exclusive safari experience in the semi-arid desert landscape of the Kalahari. Dinaka comprises seven large tented suites and one two-bedroom family tent. Suites offer both twin and double configurations, as well as en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and a private veranda. Tents have been built on raised platforms with wooden walkways in between tents and the main area, creating perfect viewing platforms to enjoy a permanent watering hole situated not far from camp. Relax in the main areas of camp and enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape in comfort.
Visitors to this area of Botswana may be surprised to find how the annual rains transform the desert landscape into a lush green region, peppered with Kalahari vegetation. Dinaka offers a range of activities and experiences for guests to make the most out of the area. Exploring with day and night game drives gives the best opportunity to spot animals endemic to the area, especially the black maned Kalahari lion. Other wildlife includes giraffe, antelope, cheetah, leopard and brown hyena, and at night, animals like the honey badger, bat eared fox and porcupine. Guests are guaranteed a good seat on game drives, with vehicles taking no more than four people per vehicle, allowing everyone to enjoy a window seat. Dinaka's location on a private reserve also means guests could head out on foot into the bush for the perfect opportunity to learn more about the vegetation, spot plenty of beautiful birdlife and maybe even come across some bigger game. A photographic hide also gives keen photographers the chance to get some incredible up close and personal shots. For those more adventurous travellers, a sleep-out deck provides the perfect opportunity to sleep out under the stars with only the bush around you.
