Kwando Lebala Camp

At Kwando Lebala each of the tents are built on a raised teak deck, laid out with comfort and privacy in mind. The endless vistas from the large windows and decks, across the vast plains, make Lebala a great choice when visiting this area of Botswana.

Linyanti, Botswana
Lebala Camp
  • This area of northern Botswana is famous for its big game, amazing predator number and large elephant herds

  • The flexibility to really explore, by vehicle, on foot, during the day and at night

  • The expert and ever alert guide and tracker team pick up on even the tiniest disturbance in the bush, nothing escapes them

  • Experience the vast spaces of the Linyanti Marshes, an amazing habitat supporting a high volume of big game

The tented suites are spacious and comfortable, each have a reading and writing area, en-suite bathrooms with Victorian clawfoot bathtubs, "his and hers" washbasins and flush toilets. The bathrooms lead out to a reed enclosed open-air shower with hot and cold running water. Each tent has its own sundeck, and is set back among the trees.

The wetlands and flood plains around Lebala offer a good variety of wildlife with fairly regular sightings of elephant, hippo, lechwe, zebra, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, kudu, tsessebe, roan, sable, buffalo and the ever present predators; wild dog, lion, cheetah and hyena.

After dark, spotlights are switched on and the game drives expose our guests to nocturnal sightings of rare and elusive species such as, leopard, Selous Mongoose, small spotted genet, and aardwolf, to name a few. Nocturnal bird species that are encountered include Natal Nightjar, Pennantwinged Nightjar and a large variety of owls.

The guiding here is of a good standard, with the guides exceptionally keen to show guests the larger mammals and predators in the area, if you are keen to see as much big game as possible this is a great option.
