Offering spectacular scenery and nestled within the typical boulder landscape that defines Damaraland, a stay at Mowani Mountain Camp is all about relaxation in beautiful surroundings. The camp itself spans out between boulders to create individual pathways to get to rooms which are hidden within the rocks. The main areas of camp are open plan and offer plenty of comfortable space under shade for guests to relax on warm afternoons. The camp has been decorated in neutral colours and natural materials with a touch if traditional Africa design and art throughout.
Each of the fifteen rooms have been individually designed in East African decor and layout, with suites tucked between the vast granite boulders, each with a private deck, en-suite facilities, a mini-bar and include a stunning open-air bathroom from which to enjoy endless views.
Mowani Mountain Camp is also ideally located almost opposite the entrance to the historical site of Twyfelfontein, where guided tours can be take to view a rare example of San engravings and paintings occurring at the same site, as well as enjoying the naturally formed geological site of the Organ Pipes. This marvellous archaeological treasure has 2,500 engravings and is probably the finest example of its kind in Southern Africa. Other activities include nature drives to search for desert-adapted wildlife and nature walks.
