This 4-hour private guided hike offers the chance to see five of the oldest trees in Panama and begins in a nature reserve which forms part of the Volcán Barú National Park. The hike travels along the Quebrada La Mina Trail, which follows a pretty creek, retracing the steps of pre-Columbian Indians, through the cloud forest, along the ridges, and valleys above Boquete. During the hike you will see the giant Quercus trees that survived a volcanic eruption over 800 years ago. These amazing millenary trees grow throughout the rainforests of Panama and Costa Rica and play host to over 220 native bird species, including the beautiful and rare Resplendent Quetzal. Your guide will help you to scout for the quetzals, along with howler monkeys, white-faced capuchins, and two-toed sloths.

The tour lasts 4-hours and includes transportation to and from Boquete, an English-speaking guide, entrance fees and picnic lunch. Do wear hiking shoes, long trousers, rain jacket, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Both binoculars and adequate water supplies will enhance the experience.
