Estancia Cerro Guido
Estancia Cerro Guido is an authentic and traditional working ranch located to the northeast of the famous Torres del Paine National Park in Chile's stunning Patagonia, offering a fascinating insight into estancia life, horse-riding and wonderful hiking.
Estancia Cerro Guido, a traditional working ranch dating back to the late 19th century, has a superb setting at the foot of the Sierra Contreras, just 30 minutes from the entrance to Torres del Paine National Park. The estancia is set in over 90,000 hectares of land, with some 50,000 sheep and more than 20 original buildings including the lodge, main house, kitchen, bakery, school, carpentry workshop, forge, dairy and stable.
Estancia Cerro Guido is one of the last remaining traditional Patagonian estancias in the area, retaining much of its original history. Guests receive a warm, homely welcome and can gain a unique insight into the local culture, with a chance to meet with the resident's of the estancia and participate in the livestock activities.
The views of the spectacular Paine Massif from the estancia are simply breathtaking, including those from the restaurant, where delicious regional gastronomy is served, including typical spit roasts and barbecued lamb. Most of the ingredients used in the meals are grown in the estancia's organic farm and gardens and some of the wines are from the owner's vineyard.
In addition to the comfortable facilities at the estancia, including a cozy lounge and library, guests can also enjoy various outdoor activities, such as hiking and lake tours within the National Park, horseback rides and rural tasks typical of the area.
