Navigate towards Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus, the largest sanctuary built during the period of King Ptolemy. The sun-deity Horus, typically portrayed as a falcon, is one of the most iconic deities of ancient Egypt as one of the chief deities and the son of Osiris. Its bas-reliefs give a vivid picture of life in ancient Egypt.

The Temple of Kom Ombo stands at a bend in the Nile where, in ancient times, sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank. One half of the temple is dedicated to the falcon-headed god Haruris, and the other half to the crocodile god Sobek.
