With a central location towards the south of Santorini this is a fantastic base with a homely feel, in a traditional village away from the crowds of the north. The surrounding medieval village is reflected in the hotels own design, which also emulates a traditional Greek village, making this a spacious option with plenty of room for younger guests to explore and quiet raised patios to relax and enjoy Santorini’s endless sunshine. Set a little further inland, the hotel is sheltered from the strong winds of the coast and with fewer hotels here there is a homely atmosphere steeped in Greek tradition.

The pool at Vedema is considerably larger in size compared to other hotels in Santorini and is surrounded by comfortable sun loungers and a large outdoor jacuzzi. Next to the pool is the Pergola restaurant and bar where you can enjoy delicious modern Greek food in the shade of the veranda, including fresh Greek salads, while soaking up the relaxing views of the surrounding village and vineyards, as well as the sea beyond.

A highlight of Vedema is Canava wine bar set in a 400-year-old winery, where the hotel offers an exciting wine tasting in an impressive setting. At Alati restaurant you may choose to dine al fresco on the expansive terrace or inside a former winery cave, maintaining a traditional design with exposed brick walls and high-domed ceilings, which at night is illuminated by candles to create an intimate, romantic setting. The carefully-created menu features sumptuous fine-dining Aegean seafood options with a rustic farm-to-table twist.

Elios Spa located in an enchanting 100-year-old wine cellar, allows you to rediscover harmony, relaxation and inner peace amid the unfettered beauty of the Cyclades, a land gifted with natural resources that cure the sould and body.

Vedema also benefits from their private facilities on Perissa beach, featuring Santorini’s characteristic black sand. The beach facilities are open between May and October and is reachable by a complimentary minibus shuttle with a bar and restaurant also on site. There is plenty of space to relax or explore here giving good opportunities for families away from the island's high cliffs.
