Jamtara Wilderness Camp is a luxury tented camp which is located adjacent to Pench National Park in India. Jamtara provides a perfect wilderness retreat from which you can venture off on a tiger safari in Pench National Park.
Jamtara Wildnerness Camp is set up on the quieter side of Pench National Park
The camp has its own pool, perfect for a dip after an early morning game drive
The lodge is decorated in a safari colonial style, taking you back in time
The camp has a variety of unique experiences including the opportunity to sleep out on a Star Bed with the sounds of the jungle
Jamtara Wilderness Camp sits in Pench National Park and just just ten luxury tents. Surrounded by tall Arjuna trees and an ancient Banyan tree rooted on a dry riverbed at the center, the camp brings guests back nature. With each tent comes a lovely sit-out area overlooking the forest.
When you drive to Jamtara Wildnerness Camp, you will quickly leave behind the hustle and bustle of Indian life and enter a quiet, peaceful camp where you can sit back and enjoy rural India in all its' beauty. The tents are, in many aspects, similar in style to their African counterparts in terms of comfort and exclusivity. You can expect them to have a light, airy feel with hardwood flooring and wooden furniture, often in a traditional colonial style. Oranges and reds counter the softer neutral colors of the tent, wooden floors and furniture. Each tent has its' own large modern bathroom with a welcoming shower and all the amenities you would want. If you walk outside you will find a large private sit-out area overlooking the riverbed that attracts a wide variety of wildlife - perfect for that evening drink after a game drive.
If you want a night to remember, maybe consider sleeping outside. The team at Jamtara can organize a Star Bed for you under the night's sky and draped in mosquito netting. Tuck in for the night with the sounds of the jungle for company; your bed comes complete with hot water bottles and quilts as it gets a little chilly at night in Central India during certain times of the year.
Guests staying at Jamtara Wilnerness Camp will of course want to experience a safari in Pench National Park. Taking place in the early morning and late afternoon, Pench has an array of flora and fauna on display including tigers, leopards and deer. The day begins early with a steaming cup of Masala Chai delivered to your tent before you set off. During the day if you don't want to go out on safari, a village safari can be arranged as well as cycling or a lazy afternoon walk through the countryside.
Elsewhere at Jamtara Wildnerness Camp, there are different areas for you to relax or to lounge around and read a book; a cozy library with a big comfortable sofa. Dining is sociable at Jamtara; enjoy sitting around the large dining table in the main building, trading stories of the day's sightings in the park. Jamtara Wilderness Camp is a wonderful way to enjoy one of Central India's most famous park, offering a unique and authentic safari experience.
