Jaipur - Amber Fort
Amber Fort, the ancient Rajput capital is located on a hill 11km / 7 miles north of Jaipur. Amer was the capital of the Kachhwaha Rajputs from 1037 until the Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh founded Jaipur in 1727.
The majestic fort-palace was constructed over many centuries. The many layers were added to by successive rulers, however, the later architecture displays many Mughal influences in addition to the traditional Rajput designs. While visiting the palace you will be able to explore the intricate chambers and hallways, the maze of passages and courtyards and the wonderful views.
