Western Madagascar
The ’wild’ west coast is renowned for its beautiful secluded beaches and is wonderfully undiscovered due to its inaccessibility (except by plane). Inland you are treated to baobab forests with the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Avenue des Baobabs, coral islands and strange karstic rock formations, or ’tsingy’, which make for a slightly surreal kind of paradise.

Close by you will find the Kirindy Reserve where you can see the giant jumping rat and the fossa; Madagascar’s largest mammal.
