The choice of accommodation is extensive. Guests can choose from a beachfront or overwater villa, from one to three bedrooms, private pools, and sunset views, although the entry level Beach Villa is the only accommodation without a private pool. Standard amenities include Wi-Fi, entertainment system, flatscreen satellite TV, climate control, minibar, safety deposit box, tea and coffee making facilities and bathrooms with oversized tubs, outdoor rain shower and hairdryer. All villas also include a large private deck with seating area and sun loungers. With six dining establishments, there is something to suit all moods and tastes. The main Market Restaurant offers buffet dining at breakfast and dinner, while Bottega serves Italian cuisine. Head to Sip & Sand for charcoal-grilled fish and meats by day and Japanese delights by night accompanied by wonderful sunset views; or for Spanish tapas, head to the Point set around a circular pool. For a once-in-a-lifetime lunch, Drift is found on the shores of Jehunuhura Island and will prepare guests a castaway lunch on this uninhabited private island. Finally, complimentary Six Senses ice cream, can be enjoyed at Scoop. Guests can also have a range of dishes delivered to their villa.
As with all Six Senses properties wellness is a feature, and the spa is a highlight of the resort. Guests can enjoy wellness treatments, refreshing warm and cool pools, a gym, yoga pavilion, nail bar, alchemy bar for mixing your own lotions and a biohacking lounge offering treatments that include vibrational pain relief, electromagnetic mats, and compression therapy.
Aside from lazing on the deck, the beach or around one of the resort’s two pools, there are activities galore should guests wish to partake. These include a host of water activities including kayaking, catamaran sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, diving, snorkeling and sunset cruising. Alternatively, guests can be castaway to one of the private desert islands for a picnic lunch or watch an outdoor movie at the resort’s Cinema Under the Stars. This is a wonderful resort for children and 3–11-year-olds can enjoy nature and marine-inspired activities at the complimentary children’s club, Grow with Six Senses. From treasure hunts to art projects and yoga, there’s a slew of creative, educational, and fun activities available. Older children can head to the Island Hideout to enjoy their own space and games with their peers. There are also family activities which can all be enjoyed together including water sports lessons, cookery classes and guided snorkeling.
The Six Senses group are celebrated for their strong commitment to sustainability, and the villas are all constructed using local and natural materials where possible, with traditional Maldivian thatched roofs. The use of plastics is minimal, water is conserved and bottled onsite, the chefs use both local and homegrown produce and the firm provides jobs, education, and infrastructure for the local community to thrive.
