The so called City of the Gods, Teotihuacan, preserves the remains of one of the most important civilizations in Mesoamerica, and you will be amazed by the beautiful constructions and the mysteries held within the Pyramid of the Sun, the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl, the Avenue of the Dead and the buildings surrounding them.

The building complex making up the city of Teotihuacan is held together by the Avenue of the Dead. It could be said that this avenue is the backbone that connects the Pyramid of the Moon, the Pyramid of the Sun and various buildings. Its length of almost 2.5 miles is the main access to all the temples in the archaeological zone.

North of the Pyramid of the Sun, walking along the Avenue of the Dead, the Pyramid of the Moon awaits. Its structure rises 135 feet above the ground. In front, a staggered four-body construction with sloping walls stands out from the rest of the mound. In addition to the importance of this pyramid, the human remains and the offerings of jewelry, jade, obsidian, shells and pottery, as well as human burials are worthy of your attention.

Although the Pyramid of the Sun stands out because of its size, the Pyramid of the Moon stands out because of the number of beautiful buildings that surround it. There, you can visit the Palace of the Jaguars, one of the few buildings that was not a temple, and which was reconstructed by the archaeologists. Very close to the Palace of the Jaguars, you will find one of the most beautiful and best preserved temples in the entire complex, the Palace of the Quetzalpapalotl, "divine butterfly", whose image is carved on the pillars of the court and represent a butterfly with the body of a quetzal.
