The latest addition to the Virgin Limited Edition collection, Mont Rochelle is a luxurious boutique hotel and vineyard located in Franschhoek, the food and wine capital of South Africa. The Hotel and working Vineyard is set in beautiful surroundings (39 hectares) overlooking the Dassenberg Mountains.
Only a 45 minute drive from Cape Town and within 35 minutes' drive of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Somerset West wine routes, it is fantastically located to explore this beautiful region.
The property boasts two marvelous gourmet restaurants - The Country Kitchen which joins up to the wine cellar – an ideal place for a light lunch in the sunshine or a relaxed dinner. Or the main restaurant, Miko, is the setting for some fantastic gourmet meals. Start the evening off with a refreshing cocktail from the bar and find a comfy space on the terrace to watch the sun set.
Other facilities include a spa, a gym and an outdoor pool. Some of the wonderful activities on offer on site include wine tasting at their own wine cellar, horse riding, picnics in the grounds with a hamper provided by the hotel, spa treatments, or mountain biking around the area. There is also golf nearby.
There are 22 rooms at Mont Rochelle, including six spacious suites. It is even possible to take all 22 rooms exclusively for a big celebration. There is also a luxurious five-bedroom Manor House for exclusive use for families, with four deluxe suites and a bunk room for children, with two private swimming pools and games room. The Manor House is taken on a half board basis, with meals either prepared by your own private chef or enjoyed at one of their two restaurants, Miko or The Country Kitchen which is open for lunch.
