Typically, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times to go to South Korea, since this is when the country’s naturally breathtaking scenery comes alive. Spring and autumn are the slightly cooler seasons with less chance of rainfall compared to that of the wet and hot summer months and colder winter months.

Itinerary

Day 1-6

Seoul, South Korea

Start your adventure in the buzzing capital city of South Korea, Seoul. Once landed you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the next five nights. Staying at the decadent Four Seasons Seoul, with its amazing location you will be perfectly placed to explore this wonderful city.

During your time here you will get to experience the unique city of Seoul firsthand with guided tours and fun immersive experiences. Start with a full-day tour of Seoul, taking in Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the most beautiful and largest of the five palaces that reside in Seoul. Your guide will bring the palace alive with fascinating tales of its history. While you are here you can take part in a Hanbok-wearing experience, the traditional dress of South Korea. Next you will visit Bukchon Hanok Village, famous for its traditional Korean houses, known as hanoks, giving you a glimpse into the country's rich cultural past. You will enjoy a wonderful tea drinking experience in one of the homes while you are here. Next your guide will take you to Insadong Antique Street, with alleys full of galleries, traditional restaurants, teahouses, and cafés. Following this, enjoy a brilliant trip to the hugely popular Gwangjang Market, the largest traditional market in South Korea, home to many delicious food stalls, which have been featured in numerous TV shows including Korea’s ‘Running Man’ and ‘Somebody Feed Phil’ on Netflix. It’s all about the food in Seoul and this experience will bring the variety of local flavors alive, try as many of the local dishes as you can, and be ready to be blown away by the taste sensation that Korea is famous for. The next day your tour continues, starting with an exhilarating look at Seoul’s ever-growing pop culture scene and taking part in a private K-pop dance class, a fun and lively morning for all the family to get involved in. Let the stars lead the way while you follow and have lots of fun together! Next, visit the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), meaning Dream, Design, and Play. This cool, futuristic shaped building was designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid. Then, enjoy a guided visit to the Hyundai Mall in the vibrant Hongdae neighbourhood. Full of youthful ambiance, you’ll find shops selling everything from clothing and cosmetics to living goods and books. You will also stumble across streets full of funky cafés and restaurants, and many buskers and dance performances, making a walk here quite entertaining. The Hyundai Mall is Korea’s first eco-friendly future-concept department store, bringing together concepts of nature and rest with shopping. Spanning over 12 floors and nearly 600 different shops, it’s a great spot to have a meal before you head back to the hotel. On your fourth day in the city, you have the option to visit the fascinating DMZ and War Memorial, to take a glimpse into the country’s past and optimistic future. As the only divided country in the world, South Korea’s Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) runs along its border with North Korea, with a 4km buffer zone. Here, you will experience a mix of tight security and a complex history, making it a surreal experience with a mellow atmosphere. It is also highly fascinating to visit the several observation points allowing you to peek into North Korea, and the chance to buy North Korean currency. You will also visit the War Memorial during your tour, showcasing exhibits and preserving materials related to the Korean War. For your final day in Seoul, you can choose to spend it as you wish. Revisit the areas you loved, or continue your exploration of the city, perhaps by visiting the National Museum of Korea, Bongeunsa Temple and COEX mall, or the Seoul Sky Observatory.
