Floating Market & Mangrove Conservation Center
This full day tour combines culture and adventure, taking in one of Thailand's most charming floating markets as well as a visit to the Mangrove Forest Conservation Center. You will even have the opportunity for a spot of waterskiing!
Tha Kha Floating Market is around 90 minutes' drive from central Bangkok, and so we recommend starting early to try and catch the market in full swing. However, even at its busiest, Tha Kha is much smaller and more low-key in comparison to some of the other floating markets closer to the capital. This makes it the best option for those who still want to experience a floating market while avoiding too many crowds.
Immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle by taking a ride in a wooden paddle boat. Cruise through palm plantations and soak up the atmosphere while you watch the vendors selling their goods to locals and tourists and trading with one another.
After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, continue your journey on to the Mangrove Forest Conservation Center. Take a boat trip through the mangrove forest out into the shallows of the Gulf of Thailand. Staff from the center can explain the difficulties of trying to maintain local eco-systems in a region of expanding towns and cities. You will also have the opportunity to help plant mangrove saplings.
You will then have the option to finish your experience with the slightly more unusual activity of waterskiing across the mudflats behind motorized longtail boats. Don't worry about falling in, as you will have the chance to dry off and freshen up before being driven back to Bangkok.
