Hidden Pond

Hidden Pond is just outside the picturesque harbor village of Kennebunkport Maine, summer residence of former presidents and superstar and is a collection of super-cute clapboard bungalows and two bedroom cottages dotted throughout birch woods.

The larger two-bedroom cottages come with fully equipped kitchens, living rooms, a wraparound deck with an outdoor dining area and seating and a barbecue. They can sleep up to five in two bedrooms plus a day bed, so ideal for families. The one-bedroom bungalows are perfect for couples looking for privacy and romance: high vaulted ceilings, screened porch with daybed and outdoor shower and fireplace. Every cottage and bungalow has its own décor and style but are designed to give a real New England home-from-home experience.

Hidden Pond has fantastic additional facilities and services. For culinary whizzes staying in the cottages the team at Earth Restaurant can deliver baskets stuffed with goodies to prepare sumptuous breakfasts or beach picnics, but it's also worth paying a visit to Earth itself. It's a beautiful whimsical and romantic space, rustic wooden walls, a suspended apple tree glittering with tiny lights, flickering candles and serves simple innovative farm-to-table dishes by James Beard award winner Ken Oringer. After dinner there are nightly bonfires with obligatory s'mores.

On site there are separate family and adult outdoor pools, morning yoga classes, a shed full of bikes to borrow and hiking trails galore. There is a shuttle to their sister property, the Tides Beach Club on Goose Rocks beach where kayaking and stand up paddle lessons can be organized. This way you can get the best of both worlds, enjoying the beautiful beach and ocean as well as the amazing wood. The Tree Spa is the perfect antidote to the activities: a rustic space high up in the tree tops.
