Homesteaded over 100 years ago, Lone Mountain Ranch is well versed in crafting authentic outdoor adventures that make the most of the pristine wildernesses on its doorstep. With 27 unique log cabins dotted across 148 acres, it offers accommodation options to suit families, couples and groups of friends looking to explore the vast open plains, cross-country ski tracks, fly fishing, horseback riding and the geological wonders of Yellowstone National Park.

The hand built cabins, many of them dating back to the early days when Lone Mountain was established as cattle and horse ranch, exude the romance of the pioneer spirit. Traditional in design, with a home-from-home style, the log cabins offer one, two, four or six bedrooms, and feature wood stoves and a decked seating area, ideal for enjoying the breathtaking scenery just outside the door.

Offering farm-to-table dining with dishes crafted from local produce by a renowned chef, meal times at Lone Mountain Ranch are an occasion to savor. Enjoy the convivial atmosphere of the Horn and Cantle restaurant, which serves up hearty home-cooked dishes in casual, cozy surrounds, or try one of the ranch’s signature dining experiences, including the Sleigh Ride dinner from December to March.  Settle in for an evening in The Saloon, which features regular live music nights, or simply cozy up in front of the wood stove in your cabin and enjoy the spectacular stargazing offered by the vast Montana skies.

Both a summer and winter destination, Lone Mountain Ranch is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with a wealth of activity on its doorstep. Join the experienced wranglers to explore the vast landscape on horseback, or fish for brown, blue ribbon rainbow and brook trout in the crystalline waters of the Madison and Gallatin Rivers. Join naturalist guides to discover the bubbling landscape of Yellowstone or simply soak in the tranquillity of the countryside with yoga and massage treatments at the ranch. In the winter the landscape transforms into a snowy wonderland, with 85km of maintained trails that have seen the ranch voted Cross Country Skier magazine’s number one Nordic ski destination in North America. The ranch is only 10 minutes from the Big Sky Resort, with 5,700 acres of terrain and an average of 400 inches of annual snowfall, or trek across the 30km of snowshoe trails that meander through the ranch.

Lying just 18km from the north-western border of Yellowstone National Park, 50-minutes drive from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport and set on 148 acres of stunning Montana countryside, Lone Mountain Ranch is ideally located for families and couples looking to enjoy the superb range of activities offered by this landscape.
