Attractively combining traditional jungle living and contemporary design, there are five spacious treehouses consisting of a bedroom, living area and en-suite bathroom, built from natural wood and decorated in an understated earth tones. All offer self-contained privacy, and have balconies with loungers from which guests can sit and spot the local wildlife. Fans and air conditioning keep you cool during the day, while hot water bottles are a thoughtful touch for the chilly winter nights.
The dining hall is built on two levels around a large mahua tree, the ground level serving Indian and continental cuisine, as well as barbecues, in a cosy environment, while on the upstairs terrace is a bar known as the Watering Hole. Staff will happily also set up a table for you next to a lily pond or with a view of the forested hills for a romantic bush supper.
Bandhavgarh National Park is one of India’s most beautiful national parks, with dramatic landscapes and fascinating ruined temples set among the tropical woodlands, steep rocky outcrops and valley grasslands. The park supports one of the highest densities of tiger on the subcontinent, and the expert naturalists from Treehouse Hideaway will accompany you on morning and afternoon jeep safaris with the aim not just of getting you close to a tiger, but also spotting other wildlife such as elephant, leopard, deer, sloth bears, wild dogs and monkeys. Guests can also visit Bandhavgarh Fort which forms the heart and the highest point of the park.
