Acacia House is one of three houses in a Masai Mara conservancy. It is a relaxed, private house, situated in a remote Ol Chorro Losoit valley within the Lemek hills, far from the tourist trail and within the Mara Conservation area. It is surrounded by exceptional wildlife and stunning views.
Acacia House works fantastically for a family or group, offering a totally private and flexible safari experience.
The focal point of the house is the large open-air verandah which overlooks a waterhole and is a popular spot to relax and see what wildlife might wander nearby. Indoors is an open-plan dining and lounge area, complete with a fireplace for cooler evenings. Beyond the lounge are two spacious double ensuite bedrooms, and a smaller attic room designed for children.
The house is fully staffed, including your own chef, a house manager and a private safari guide and vehicle. To one side of the house is a swimming pool and barbeque area. The pool is shared with nearby Mara House.
Activities include game drives, either by daylight or by spotlight to catch a glimpse of those elusive nocturnal species. Walking safaris with an armed scout are also available as well as visits the Maasai villages. As you are not sharing your guide or vehicle with any other guests, you can plan your days to suit your family or group, offering the ultimate flexibility.
Asilia actively challenges the historical way of delivering cultural tourism. All the guides are exclusively Masai or Il Dorobo and all employees are encouraged to retain and practice the traditional Masai values such as traditional dress. In line with this the Nomadic Encounters team have helped build up and continue to support the Koiyaki guiding school.
