With just two other camps in the North Luangwa, Takwela will be able to offer its guests some incredible game viewing in near total exclusivity. Situated on the confluence of the Luangwa and Mwaleshi Rivers, Takwela offers a true wilderness experience with stunning views across the waters so guests can watch the resident hippo pod from the comfort of camp, and can enjoy virtually exclusive access to over 50kms of the Luangwa River. Two chalets have two double beds in each, with a plan to add more chalets in 2020. The camp has a firm eco-friendly ethos, with solar energy powering the camp and building materials sourced locally and constructed with local skills.
Experienced staff will be on hand to make a stay with Takwela completely enjoyable, from stunning meals prepared in the bush, to excellent guiding in a largely unexplored area of the North Luangwa. Guests can expect warm hospitality throughout a stay with a personalized experience to ensure an unforgettable experience.
Activities at Takwela will focus on game drives and walking safaris in the morning and afternoons, with plenty of opportunities to stop for wildlife sightings, to take in the stunning North Luangwa wilderness as well as coffee breaks and sundowner stops.
